Dr. Kevin Axx has been practicing endodontics since 2006 and has lived in Phoenix since 2007. A native New Yorker, Dr. Axx attended college at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, and then SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in Buffalo, NY. He completed a general practice residency and a chief residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY, and then practiced general dentistry in Manhattan, NY. After developing a passion for endodontics, Dr. Axx attended Temple University's Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA, where he completed a residency in endodontics. After completion of his training, Dr. Axx moved to Phoenix and has been caring for patients in the Valley since 2007.

Seeing is Believing: My First Week Using the GentleWave® System

Seeing is believing with the GentleWave® System. Within the first week, I have already seen great results highlighted by finding undetected anatomy and receiving reports of minimal post-op pain. This particular patient was diagnosed with apical periodontitis, and three distinct canals were instrumented to a 20/.04 on tooth #19. The GentleWave Procedure revealed mid-mesial anatomy within two minutes of procedure start. The following day, the patient reported alleviation of all symptoms and the absence of post-operative pain. 

The GentleWave Procedure, at least in my practice, seems to be producing significantly less post-op pain compared to traditional measures, even with retreatments.
