Dr. Reid V. Pullen graduated from the University of California in 1995 and then attended the University of Southern California Dental School, graduating in 1999 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery. He spent three years as an Army dentist, where he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency, and then completed his endodontic residency at the Long Beach VA Hospital. After graduating in 2006, Dr. Pullen worked as an endodontist for one year before opening his own practice in Brea, California.

Healing of a Maxillary First Molar with an Uninstrumented Fifth Canal

In a single visit, 4 canals were prepared to an apical diameter of #20. The GentleWave® Procedure was used to clean and disinfect the canals. Following obturation, a previously undetected fifth canal orifice in the apical third of the palatal root was revealed. The patient’s symptoms were relieved, and healing was visible three months post-procedure.

Crazy Anatomy

In a single visit, the cleaning ability of the GentleWave® Procedure revealed crazy anatomy on tooth #19. Patient presented with soreness and pressure around the gum tissue. The tooth was diagnosed with pulpal necrosis and symptomatic apical periodontitis. Following the GentleWave Procedure, the canals were obturated using gutta-percha points and ThermaSeal® Plus Ribbon® Sealer using a warm vertical method.
